Wreaths

by Milo's Planes

/

lyrics

Our callus retinas push hues of parade
That never make it to the blue, then fade

We bare our teeth, yet recoil as the prey
We keep forgetting we're not as brave in plain sight, outside

Our parade floats detach from their link at the bridge
Decorating the water below in a carnage of majorette batons and carnation wreaths.

Lethargy plugs up the aqueducts arch
Water stagnates as the currents reverse
Our island just bobs, unremittingly lost
We'll drown here, forgot
